Homework task

Production - In making or producing a film you m must plan the idea of the movie. you need to have a narrative or plot about the movie, the relevant equipment, actors, etc. the narrative is the first thing and the final editing will be the last. Before the movie gets into the cinema a trailer must be made. Main producers in America are Christian Jacobs, Ben Garant, Carter Bays, Jon Peters etc. The person who owns the studio may make certain movies on his own preferences or likes. Independent production is a production over which an artists maintains complete creative, artistic and editorial control.

Distribution - Distribution seeing the film to companies ready for exhibition. film distributor that are in studios are people who distribute film. newer way to distribute films is b y using technology such as apps and the internet and social networking. Film festivals are annual events. The most known one are the Venice film festival, Cannes film festival and Toronto film festival. Film distributors may choose when to release a film on statistics of most successful paying movies weekends. Film distribution is important because it helps access to customers and helps prices and costs. If you cant distribute a film then this may dip in the funds of how much money the films makes.

Marketing - Marketing is attracting and showing the film to an audience. This is different to distribution because this is selling the film to a particular company. some examples of recent marketing is the Scooby doo movie on happy meals, the amazing spider man print/bus adverts and the trailers of the Godzilla movie. Some movies can be targeted to different audiences. A American movie such as 'Kick Ass' have different trailers in different languages and this helps to bring in a larger audience. It also can grab other audiences of different types. The particular movie contains action/thriller/comedy which grabs an larger audience type.

Exhibition - Audiences can watch movies from YouTube or internet sites. There are apps to watch movies such as 'love film' or 'Netflix'. People can buy illegal pirates copies or also go to the cinema. A box office is a place where tickets re sold to the public for admission to an event. The return of the box office film shows how many tickets have been sold showing successful and how much money the movie has made. People who receive money for successful movies are directors, producers, actors, distributors etc. Cinemas make their money through the snacks they sell and the film tickets. Cinemas try to encourage people to visit instead of staying at home by using 3D for almost all movies. Ancillary markets are non theatrical markets for feature films like home video. television, pay per view, VOD, internet streaming, airlines and others. These different formats enable a better exhibition of a film which makes more money.
